Transformation is Inevitable if…

I have a few quotes posted on the walls of my writing room. One of them echoes an idea I love.

Bill Gates writes, “Most people overestimate what they can do in one year and underestimate what they can do in ten years.”

I want you to let that sink in for a moment; 10 years is a long time. That’s approximately 3,650 days (leap years excluded). Or 87,600 hours. Or 5,256,000 minutes.

Now, I want to throw a few more numbers at you. If you read 1 book a month for the next 10 years, that’s 120 books — way more than the average person reads in their entire 75+ year lifetime.

Or what if you worked out for 30 minutes, 3 times a week. That would equal 780 hours of exercise.

Last one… What if you saved just $500 a month into a retirement or investment account for that time? Even with modest returns, that money would grow to $105,187.00.

At scale, with patience, transformation is inevitable. The change you so desperately desire to make in your life may not happen as quickly as you would like. But if you keep going, if you bear the full weight of endurance, you will win.
